چکیده

Dexterous control of upper limb prostheses with multiarticulated wrists/hands is still a challenge due to the limitations myoelectric man-machine interfaces. Multiple factors limit overall performance and usability these interfaces, such as need degrees freedom sequentially not concurrently, inaccuracies in decoding user intent from weak or fatigued muscles. In this article, we developed novel interface that endows prosthesis (MYO) artificial perception, estimation intention, intelligent (MYO-PACE) continuously support automation while preparing for grasping. We compared MYO-PACE against state-of-the-art (pattern recognition) laboratory clinical tests. For purpose, eight able-bodied two amputee individuals performed standard test consisting series manipulation tasks (portion SHAP test), well more complex sequence transfer cluttered scene. all tests, subjects only completed trials faster using but also achieved efficient control. These results demonstrate implementation advanced context interpretation, autonomous decision-making into active improves dexterity. Moreover, it effectively supports by speeding up preshaping phase movement decreasing muscle use.

Intelligent multifunction myoelectric control of hand prostheses.

Intuitive myoelectric prosthesis control is difficult to achieve due to the absence of proprioceptive feedback, which forces the user to monitor grip pressure by visual information. Existing myoelectric hand prostheses form a single degree of freedom pincer motion that inhibits the stable prehension of a range of objects. Multi-axis hands may address this lack of functionality, but as with mult...

Control Capabilities of Myoelectric Robotic Prostheses by Hand Amputees: A Scientific Research and Market Overview

Hand amputation can dramatically affect the capabilities of a person. Cortical reorganization occurs in the brain, but the motor and somatosensorial cortex can interact with the remnant muscles of the missing hand even many years after the amputation, leading to the possibility to restore the capabilities of hand amputees through myoelectric prostheses. Myoelectric hand prostheses with many deg...
